Dear readers,
Like in every market, there are good products and bad products. The ones that you will never separate from ever again and the ones you barely understand their existence. I have tried a bunch of Korean eyebrows products and the ones listed below are not worth your money or your time.
My recommendations:
Worst Thick Pencil: Etude House Drawing Eye Brow ($3)
Worst Clear Wax: Espoir The Brow Lifting Wax ($18)
Worst Mascara: Etude House Color My Brows ($3)
1. Worst Thin Pencil: Rom&nd Han All Sharp Brow
Rating: 2.5 / 5
Highlights:
Great colour range
Smooth application for the powder
Long-lasting
What we don’t like:
Doesn't glide on the skin
Painful application of the pencil lead
Brittle lead
The Rom&nd Han All Sharp Brow product is great in all points beside the main part which is the pencil lead. The tip is hard to work with as it doesn't glide on the brow easily and even feels super dry. If you want some product to actually go onto your brow, you have to apply some pressure. But because the tip is so thin (1.5mm), it can feel painful to apply the product. Halfway off the pencil, you can twist it to discover a little powdered sponge. I actually only use the powder on this product. It is a long-lasting brow product but the tip formula needs to be improved to soften the lead. It is available in 6 colours from grey to taupe and brown to match most hair colours.
2. Worst Thick Pencil: Etude House Drawing Eye Brow
Rating: 3 / 5
Highlights:
Quality spoolie
Great pigments
Nice colour range
What we don’t like:
Triangular lead
Not a natural look
Another popular Korean product that just doesn't work for me. The Etude House Drawing Eye Brow claims to be a brow pencil (so far so good) with a precise stroke to achieve the most natural-looking eyebrows, and that is the part I have issues with. The specifically designed triangle shape lead is really not handy to work with. It creates chunky hair strokes which are not so natural looking. Other than that, the formula is filled with vitamin E which delivers moisturization and smooth application. It comes in 7 different colours but there is nothing neat or delicate about this product let's point out its long-lasting and good colour payoff properties.
3. Worst Clear Wax: Espoir The Brow Lifting Wax
Rating: 1 / 5
Highlights:
Nice packaging
What we don’t like:
Inconvenient packaging
Brush gets dirty and difficult to wash it
Hard to get the right amount of product out of the pot
Clumpy
There is actually not a bunch of wax products on the Korean market to choose from, so when the Espoir Brow Lifting Wax, I was super excited to try it. Well, the excitement fell very short. Beyond the packaging that is absolutely on point, it is very difficult to get some products out of the pot using the dual-type provided brush; tight separation and lifting. Assuming you managed to get some product out, when applied to the brows, the wax turns into this patchy frozen looking texture that is absolutely horrible looking. The fixing strength is not even remarkable. If you wish to have your brows looking like frozen stalactites, this Espoir Brow Lifting Wax is for you.
4. Worst Mascara: Etude House Color My Brows
Rating: 2 / 5
Awards: Glowpick 2022
Highlights:
High pigments intensity
What we don’t like:
Brush shape makes it difficult to control the amount of product
Brush length makes it difficult to not put products everywhere
